'I Don't Take It Serious'

It’s going down in Evelyn Lozada‘s DMs. On Tuesday, June 30, the “Basketball Wives” veteran made an appearance on Nick Cannon‘s radio show “Nick Cannon Mornings,” where she opened up about younger men trying to shoot their shot in her private messages.

The 44-year-old reality star revealed that she was ready to settle down and hinted that she loved the idea of being with one person. Evelyn shared that she’s been single for the past three years, explaining that she usually attracts younger men.

Evelyn said at the 14:26 mark: “I attract a lot of younger guys.” Nick asked: “So, you know what comes with that?” She responded: “Yes, it’s just that..that’s..why I don’t take it serious, you know… I don’t take…” Nick replied: “Smart woman.” She continued: “I mean some of these guys are younger than my daughter. My daughter’s 27 years old.” Nick asked: “Well how is that? You open to..to like dating guys who are younger than your daughter?” Evelyn said: “No..no that’s what I’m saying, I don’t take it serious.” The Bronx native went on to share that she would not be able to explain that type of relationship to her daughter.

Some fans reacted to the interview and expressed the idea that she should expand her horizon and date someone younger than her. Someone wrote: “If he’s younger than your daughter it doesn’t matter at least give him a chance because you don’t know he might be the one for you and he might treat you right @evelynlozada 💙💙😍😍🔥🔥.” Another fan commented: “I know you seen the movie How Stella Got Her Groove Back 😂👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥@evelynlozada.”

Evelyn gave birth to her daughter Shaniece Hairston when she was 17. Shaniece and her father don’t appear to have a close-knit relationship. Evelyn described Shaniece’s father as some man from Brooklyn in a now-deleted tweet from 2012. At 38, the VH1 star became a mother a second time around with her now 6-year-old son Leo Crawford.

Evelyn and Leo’s father, former MLB player Carl Crawford, announced their engagement in December 2013 and broke their relationship off in August 2017. Evelyn is six years older than Carl. The pair appear to have a great co-parenting relationship, and threw their son a sports-themed birthday party last year.
