Jussie Smollet faked his kidnapping with the help of two Nigerian brothers, according to ABC News Chicago. And police have the two brothers in custody, the local news station is reporting.
Chicago police are now treating the Empire actor as a suspect in a “hoax,” and have taken two men into custody that they believe may have assisted Jussie in perpetrating the hoax.
Police took two brothers from Nigeria into custody. Officially police are calling the young men “persons of interest” in connection with the alleged attack on “Empire” star Jussie Smollett.
But the lawyers for the two men claim that they are expected to be arrested today.

Multiple sources have told ABC7 Eyewitness News that police are investigating whether Smollett and the two men staged the attack allegedly because Smollett was being written off of “Empire.” . . .
Chicago police told ABC News, “Police are investigating whether the two individuals committed the attack – or whether the attack happened at all.”

There is now speculation that the Nigerian actor and Jussie may have been friends and possibly more.
The two are following each other on social media. And at one point, the man plays one of Jussie’s love songs in the background.
