# Don’t Dodge The Debate Trends As Nigerians Anticipate Presidential Debate

1 min

#dontdodgethedebate is currently trending in Abuja as Nigerians from all geopolitical zones express their displeasure with news making rounds that Nigerias current president Muhammadu Buhari is yet to make up his mind on whether to attend the presidential debate or Not.

The high rate of Political awareness among Nigerians has made the 2019 general elections the most closely watch in the history of the country. Debates provides an excellent plartform for candidates to market themselves to the electorates while offering the citizens the opportunity to scrutinize the policies and credentials of those who have presented themselves for the leadership of the country.

Vice-Presidential Debate

The Vice-Presidential debate is done and dusted already. The debate was organized by the Nigerian Election Debate Group (NEDG) and the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON).
The parties and candidates at the debate were Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Abdulganiyu Galadima; Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Khadijah Abdullahi-Iya; All Progressives Congress (APC), Yemi Osinbajo; Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi and Young Progressives Party (YPP), Umma Getso.

If a whole VP Osinbajo with all his vocabulary and intellect could say where were where were where were, then expect something greater from buhari, and that’s even if he will attend the Presidential debate which will hold on January 19, 2019 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, and will focus primarily on the economy, electricity supply, job creation, health, security, infrastructure and education. But nothing is off limits.
